Prof. Brian Wynne (Lancaster University) will give the keynote speech at the IIS conference ‘Onzekerheid Troef’ that takes place on the 13th of January 2012 at the University of Amsterdam. During the event Wynne and several Dutch experts will discuss the topic of the reliability and specific role of scientific knowledge in public debate and policy making – including issues such as sustainability, biodiversity, GM food and public vaccination campaigns.
Notably, Wynne has written influential scholarly work on the governing of complexity, the public use and political misuse of science, the techno-philosophical topic of conceptualizing the implications of nano-scale governance and on emerging technologies.
