I´m now a PhD-researcher and lecturer in the philosophy of science at the department of Philosophy of the University of Amsterdam – specializing in the conceptual foundations of the axiomatization of mathematical probability (find my profile here). My main interests, as far as this blog is concerned, are everything between and beyond post-structuralism, speculative realism, object-oriented & process ontology, Alain Badiou’s ‘materialist meta-mathematical metaphysics’ and Peter Sloterdijk’s ‘Nietzschean post-phenomenology. I also

try to post updates about recent publications (books, journal articles, blog entries etc.) events or exhibitions that  relate to these subjects as often as possible.

I’m responding to your comment on UnderstandingSociety and the difficulty you’re having in opening the PDF book version of Understandingsociety. I’m baffled; I’ve asked several friends to open the file and no one had a problem. It should be titled UnderstandingSociety_july_2010.pdf and should be about 42 megabytes. Could it be that you’re using a non-standard PDF viewer? Is it possible that it’s been damaged during download? It works with Adobe Acrobat, Acrobat Reader, and OSX Preview.
